Start Some Trouble

,
First internship.  I thought it went well.  Apparently not as well as I thought as I found out today.  Second one was a disaster.  Only one doctor on staff and our personalities clashed completely.  We knew we didnt like each other but had a very professional relationship...that is after he screamed at me.  I took his knowledge to heart and listened to him when he didnt ignore me.  Now Im on probation at school.

Now let me tell you about my second internship.  It was horrible for me.  However it was a fantastic clinic.  The doctor there was incredible.  It seemed like the staff consisted of a bunch of push overs (no offense to them.)  Very nice but didnt seem to question anything...ever.  Not even when the area was dirty.  They just kind of shrugged.  Oh well.  NO NOT FUCKING OH WELL.  THIS IS A GODDAMN HOSPITAL!  And that is probably why I didnt do so well there.  The first clinic was a Banfield.  Not sure what I did wrong there.  Maybe it was because I was a shy first term student who, in the first few days begged to do things but nobody let me so I gave up.  I feel like I came through in the end but apparently not enough.

So...to the next places.  Fuck being polite.  Dont bitch about me not doing shit if youre not gonna let me do it.  And no...I will NOT just stick your animals with controlled...or any drugs without you knowing or watching (ESPECIALLY if its controlled.)  Im a student...covering my ass NOT a new employee.

FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK!

the four Bs

,

so Im being super cool and giving you four blogs in one! YEAH!!!

so lets start with blog one...

Birth.
Actually the birth lead to death. Turns out Navi popped out kids when she escaped her cage. However they all died except one lucky one that was holding on to dear life. I let her out to nurse him but instead she ate the face of a head...that she apparently was eating. So as far as I know she had four kittens/pups/ratlets...whatever you wanna call em. I gave this one a different section cause...it was unusual. As most of you know, I bred Eddy (a siamese) to Navi (a siamese). The outcome should have been a litter of all siamese. Babies develop the coat pattern a few days after birth. No fur...just a pattern on their skin. The survivor was all pink...meaning he was very likely a siamese (or all white...called PEW for pink eyed white). The half eaten head...was dark meaning that baby wasnt siamese. One body looked hooded or capped (black head is capped...black head with stripe like the ones usually seen in petco are hooded). The other looked to be some oddly done banned (hard to explain). In fact from my view she looked like a panda! Talk about rare...dont even think thats heard of! Navi was too into eating the dead head and not caring for the lucky survivor so I had Adam put him out. *sigh*

Blue Mourning
I didnt just lose all babies (and possible rare coat patterns) but one of my older rats died as well. one of my blue ones.

I feel even worse cause I didnt clean the cages due to all the deaths. Just needed a break.

Bob.
I had orientation for my intro to computer information science class. My teacher? Bob...the whitest name ever XD. Anyway he is really cool. Well he failed in the middle of his lecture. He went on for twenty minutes about spell check but then misspelled words when trying to explain how class discussion will work.

I like Bob =]

That and his last name is Irvine. How cool is that? Youre a computer teacher and your last name is the name of a city dedicated to technology. Yeahhhh....I wanna move to Irvine methinks. Good schools for kids and I could work for GOOGLE

=]

I dont like Raef Hall though

//0|/|>3|2 //|-|@7 //0|_|1|> |-|@|*|*3|| |ph | 7`/|*3|> |>|$(|_|$$|0|/@ ||/ 1337 XD

Black people fail?
Nope not this time XD Its all about white people today. First someone tried to speed past me in an old mini van. Turns out it was a white dude...just so he could sit at a stop sign? yeah wtf.

So then I get on campus. Cool. My teacher failed as mentioned above. He also failed by talking about organization and misplacing stuff.

I overheard one of my classmates talking about taking only online classes so she wouldnt get lost on campus. I mean first off who was on their own and didnt get lost their first day??? Youre incredible if its YOU (and it was your first time on campus). Second...its not a big campus...can we all agree on that?

I hop on the bus to go home. This kid gets off and gets back on. HE BLOCKED THE FRONT DOOR AND GOT PISSY WHEN PEOPLE NEEDED TO GET OFF!!!!!!!! like wtf.

So Adam came over and I fed him and we went to his place. There was a girl on the freeway texting with both hands and not looking where she was going. XDDD

SOME PEOPLE I KNOW THINK THAT IM CRAZY

,
But seriously I dont know of anything that has more potential to easily and relatively inexpensively provide food for people in need. Aquaponics can do it and at the same time, not damage soils, our planet or our bodies. Aquaponics does not use anywhere near the water, compared to any other cropping procedure that I know of. It is safe, easy to learn and it works. This blog is total positive proof with over 3,700 visitors interested in, building or already taking advantage of the ongoing benefits that are available through Aquaponics.

Its not hard to work out if Aquaponics is right for you, your family, your community. The facts are already in and the votes are being counted daily as new people are deciding to make Aquaponics their preferred way or helping to provide food for their family, community or just for their own personal needs.

Every week I use Twitter to help promote this blog and in the process, I list the reasons why Aquaponics is good for you and good for the planet. The reason is simply because we cant deny facts. Lets look at them.
NO Chemicals,
NO Pesticides,
NO Soil erosion,
NO Soil diseases,
NO Genetic Modification
NO Artificial fertilizers
Comparatively little water,
The most environmentally friendly, sustainable food production system in our world today,

In addition, Aquaponics changes the playing field - Waist-high aquaponic gardening cuts down the risk of injury and makes gardening far more easily accessible to people with difficulties.

Final Design: The Aquaponics Tipper
The tipper is an improvement on current bell siphon systems. The tipper helps deliver reliability, robustness, and independence from flow-rate for success. By having two intermittent flows, the flow rate into the reservoir is decoupled from the flow rate out of the reservoir. This solves the failure modes that the bell siphon can encounter under high or low flow rate in. The bell siphon fails in high and low flow rates because of the...[more]

Welcome Niles North, Thanks for joining the Aquaponic Gardening community!  I hope you find it a fun place to explore aquaponics.  There is a real blend of experienced and new aquapons in this community, so please don’t hesitate to get in there and start asking questions.  Everyone is quite happy to help out new members – no question is too basic.

Aquaponics and rabbits
About two more weeks till I can dig the footings for the shed that will house my Florida White Rabbits. I recently purchased two 55 gallon steel drums for a rocket mass heater under the shed and noticed the guy selling them had food grade 250 gallon tanks. This got me thinking of adding an aquaponics system in the shed with the rabbits. Heating would be a concern, but I think could [more]

Mason area volunteers help in ‘neediest areas of Nigeria’
“We have quite a diverse group of creative, intelligent and courageous hopefuls who are setting out to inspire– and most definitely, perspire– in the some of the neediest areas of Nigeria.”

The trip is organized by Self-Sustaining Enterprises of Mason.  Eleven Mason area business professionals are making the journey, from March 16 – 26, to help local Nigerians construct an aquaponics fish pond, set up a 500-700-gallon cinderblock fish factory and develop other microenterprise initiatives.[MORE]

DIY Aquaponics

The great thing about this sort of farming is that you will not have to bend to take care of the plants. Placing the fish tank and the netting pots at the waist level will make all activities you need to do in order to take care of the plants and fish undemanding as a childrens game. You can say so long to digging, bending and stretching to reach as larger surface, and crawling on your knees to take the weeds out of the ground. You shall have everything you need at your arms’ reach.
The aquaponic plan is right for any age as well as for people with any kind of activity. It requires little time and it gives very good outcomes. On condition that you take respectable care of your fish, your vegetation should grow bigger and bigger, will develop normally and towards the end you will harvest the greatest veggies you have ever tasted![MORE]

Nigerian mission trip focus: Microenterprises
MASON - Eleven businessmen from the greater Cincinnati area headed to Jos, Nigeria this week on a 10-day mission trip. But unlike other mission trips, this groups focus is a bit different: Microenterprises.

The group hopes to use their business skills to train people to do jobs that could serve as careers, which could have a huge impact on a villagers life. "If we can provide $150 to someone who starts a chicken coop, that enterprise will help someone," he said.

The group however, has much bigger ideas than chicken coops. One member of the group, David West, invested $1000 last September on a technique that could revolutionize farming in the area called aquaponics.

"If we do it right, we could produce 600 to 700 pounds of lettuce a week," project manager Brad Rogers said. "Its feasible to have one on a farm anywhere - the U.S. model is basically a four-by-eight frame [MORE]

West Chester resident part of group to help impoverished Nigerians
Posted by rrichardson March 17th, 2011, 9:52 am Post a Comment

MasonBuzz.com reports on a coalition of area volunteers who traveled to Jos, Nigeria yesterday as part of a faith-based marketplace ministry.

The group of 11 travelers includes West Chester resident Jeff Greer, a senior pastor at Grace Chapel in Mason.

During their six-day trip, the group will help local Nigerians construct an aquaponics fish pond and set up a 500-700-gallon cinderblock fish factory, eventually capable of producing up to 300 fish a month and 80 heads of organic lettuce every 40 days.

Group members will also help train women workers who own...[more]

How Many Zucchini Plants to Plant

Heirloom Tomatoes: Are They Really Heirloom?
by Lawrence Davis-Hollander
Let’s be clear. I love heirloom tomatoes.
I may raise the hackles of some heirloom seed purveyors by telling you that there is a great deal of misrepresentation out there in the heirloom tomato world. Much of it is not on purpose.

Not every variety called an heirloom tomato is an heirloom tomato. Many varieties featured in seed catalogs are actually new intentional creations or chance hybridizations that have...

Todays giggles and some updates grr windows

,

Dear Blogspotters,

You get my juicy posts that are uncut and my free mind. Totally not kid friendly, racist, and sometimes fairly emotional. Good job.

So todays blog is really about black people and windows. XD

First lets start with black people. So mom and sis didnt pay the electric bill. Yeah that means Im out from Sims, Katamari, AND Harvest Moon in one hit!!! Expect more blogs to roll in.

ANYWAY.

So I went to school to get my bus pass. Was waiting in line to get my sticker. The chick in front of me took 10 minutes to brush her hair and junk...just to take a pic. Mind you that once you have a pic you DONT get a new one. So she bitched about it. -_-

omg black pplz

So then mom came and got me so she could take sis to work. She was talking about how we couldnt cook or anything.

oddly enough we have a gas stove...hmmm

So I was like "why cant we just light the gas with a lighter?"
"Our stove is electric and gas"
"but the electricity is only used to light the gas...hence why it goes tick tick bwoooof"
"Then why did the oven not come on last time the power was out?"
"because there was no electricity to start it?"

Then low and behold...my sister said something smart?

"She means you needed electricity to start the spark to light the gas"

for some odd reason my mom only understands when my sister said it...

dumb

Anyway now time to rant about windows.

I loved XP automatic updates cause they dont bug the shit out of you...till recently.

I have been on this computer maybe an hour and it has sent me five popups asking me if I wanna restart now

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH *kill*

Been having these odd dreams. One from the night before last.

I fell to the floor. I had...fur? I went up to her. She had kids. "let me help you" I said. She directed me to help go find food for the group. I did. A man tried to shoot them. I let out a hiss. She praised me for my work...and let me know she was a witch. She made me human again....and I defeated the evil man.

Then last night,
The man shot straight at the door. He was aiming to kill. We owed the mob. Our house exploded as I ran out the door. He caught me and put me in a prison with a nice family. Together we broke out and got into a huge gun fight with the mobsters. Then they took me home. Their home was terribly destroyed but fixable. I found their dog outside...their dog...or was it? It was MY old dog...one that was brutally murdered.

Oh happy days!

,
Sometimes I wonder if teachers put any thought into "randomly" assigning us fake patients or practice problems.  Today was IV catheter lab day.  We got these practice "patients" (a fake problem basically and mine was a 2lb 2oz kitten.  I looked at it and just smiled.  Oh man...imagine trying to stick an IV in this for reals!  Im sure this wouldnt be your run-of-the-mill cephalic (arm) catheter...an umbilical maybe?  So I placed my catheter on my dummy leg perfectly (thank you Banfield.  Yes I was paying attention!)

The downside to today was that I didnt trust myself.  I had everything correct the first time but didnt think that maybe everyone else just didnt do the math as fast.  I second guessed myself a bunch but wait...I was right.  My drips per second were pretty crazy although Im not sure if dead on.  However, once I found out what the machine wanted, I got that right on.  Mega win for me...the girl incredibly horrible at math!

Anyway...this week is teacher appreciation week and the front desk is giving out these little things where you can write nice things about your teachers.  I have a feeling that Ms. L and Dr. R wont get any.  This makes me sad.  Yes both are strict but isnt the real world strict too?  Ms. L isnt even that bad.  She just had to teach the hardest term and chose to be the bad guy.  Whatever.  I think she is cool.  Dr. R?  Well its her first year teaching...give her a break!  Anyway she is pretty cool too.  The one thing I really love about her is that she is into Chinese medicine.  WHAT!!?  Absolute love!  I know she thinks we all think she is crazy for the things she says but really...Im SO glad to have her come into my life.  Im glad to know that not all doctors in general practice dismiss, if not shun, holistic medicine.  I think Im going to write them all a nice love note.  Why?  Because I love all my teachers.  Yes there are things I dislike about some but in reality...they are the ones helping me set in stone my future.

More for Newbies and then some

Keeping the trend going, There are several interesting sites that are just begging to be looked at that are full of vital information.
So often we can go to a site and after reading a few lines we find within ourselves a feeling of false security because there seems to be nothing that we havent already read or heard.
The problem is, there could be a little gem in the very next line or paragraph. Some experience or problem that has been overcome the hard way. Something that leaves us with "Thank God I kept Reading".
They say there is nothing you cant find on the web. But you need persistence and really well organized search techniques.
Or just keep reading what we have here......lol
